Phoenix Chamber Choir Announces New Artistic Director: Dr. Graeme Langager

Following the 2011-2012 season Phoenix embarked upon an international search for a new Artistic Director, searching for that single person to lead us into the 2012-2013 season and beyond. We were looking for an innately musical soul, with a compelling vision for our organization – someone with formidable drive, singular talent, and a deeply passionate heart.

The Phoenix Chamber Choir is pleased to announce our new conductor and artistic director: Dr. Graeme Langager

With a career spanning four degrees (including a Doctorate in Conducting from the prestigious Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, and a degree in Jazz Studies from our very own Capilano College), and 18 years of experience directing community choirs and collegiate choral ensembles, Graeme Langager brings a wealth of experience, vibrant leadership style, and an enthusiasm for performing the finest choral repertoire with nuance, brilliance, sensitivity, and heart.

"I am thrilled to be appointed as Phoenix’s new Artistic Director," said Graeme, "and am eager to begin my work with this amazing group of talented individuals. Phoenix has a long tradition of excellence, and I am honoured to be joining them as conductor."

AUDITIONS will be held Tuesday, August 28, 7:00-10:00 pm at the Carousel Theatre Society. Auditions will be 15 minutes in length; please prepare a short selection of your choice to sing a capella.  To reserve an audition time, please email Graeme Langager at director@phoenixchamberchoir.bc.ca
