Concert: Venetian Mosaic by Laudate Singers

Let Laudate sweep you away on a gondola ride down a moonlit canal... straight to the heart of Venice’s rich musical heritage. The choir will perform a glorious mosaic of works by Monteverdi, Gabrieli, Lotti, Carissimi and Caldara, accompanied by some of Vancouver’s finest early music instrumentalists: Nancy DiNovo and Pat Armstrong (violins), Ariel Barnes (cello), Ray Nurse (theorbo) and organist Christopher Bagan.  May 14, 2010, 8pm, St Andrews United Church, 1044 St Georges, North Vancouver.

Edmonton Columbian Choirs Bring The Best of Broadway

In their annual tradition, the Edmonton Columbian Choirs present Night on Broadway at the Royal Glenora Club (11160 River Valley Road) on Friday, May 7 and Saturday, May 8, 2010 with cocktails at 6:00 PM and show & dinner at 6:30 PM both nights.  Well-known Edmonton media personality Colin MacLean will emcee the evening. A Time to Heal CD Supports Many

In October 2009, the Vancouver Chamber Choir joined with other well-known artists in a concert spearheaded by First United Church. The performance A Time to Heal: moving beyond homelessness was intended to raise funds and awareness of Vancouver's homelessness issues.

We are pleased to partner again to assist the community through the creation and sales of the CD A Time to Heal: moving beyond homelessness.

Choral Concert Features an Encore Broadcast of Festival 500 – The Power of Song

If there is any event that reinforces the idea that choirs are the soul of our communities, Festival 500 is it. The biennial event has become a magnet for choirs from Newfoundland and Labrador, across Canada and around the world. 23 choirs, 775 participants, conductors, clinicians, workshops and venues spread out across the city.   For a week the city pulses with the sound of singing, it’s a true choral paradise!

On Sunday, April 25th  2010, 9:00 - 11:00 am, (9:30 - 11:30 NT) on CBC Radio 2, Choral Concert we’ll hear an encore broadcast of the highlights recorded at the Arts and Culture Centre and Gower Street United Church in St. John's.

Vancouver Chamber Choir: Famous Choruses from Great Composers May 8

Artistic Director Jon Washburn and the Vancouver Chamber Choir are pleased to celebrate the 30th annual presentation of the National Conductors’ Symposium with a concert of choruses from choral masterworks. MASTERPIECE will be at 8pm Saturday, May 8 at Ryerson United Church, Vancouver with the workshop’s five participants as guest conductors and Stephen Smith, piano.

Four of Canada's Top Composers Donate New Choral Works

Bid on a New Choral Work written especially for you and your choir. Canadian composers, Leonard Enns, Ruth Watson Henderson, Jon Washburn and Donald Patriquin have all donated their talents to write a new composition or arrangement specifically tailored to the choir lucky enough to place the highest bid during the Silent Auction held during Podium 2010, May 20—13 in Saskatoon. These original compositions have been hotly contested items at recent conferences so be sure to come prepared to bid!
