Thirty minutes of sublime chant, polyphony, and readings based on the monastic office of Compline. It is a sung service with space for reflection and prayer traditionally celebrated at the end of the day as night approaches. The focus of our readings and prayers is on the desire for peace with justice throughout the world. We hope that you will feel welcome in this sacred space and be able to rest in God's loving presence.

Vancouver Chamber Choir Tours BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan

In March 2010 the internationally acclaimed Vancouver Chamber Choir will visit British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan on their 79th tour “On the Road Again”. This tour follows the Choir's incredibly successful tour to Taiwan and Japan where they were invited to sing a private performance for the Emperor and Empress of Japan.

Cantilon Chamber Choir Releases Bonny Wood Green

This newly released title by Heather Johnson and the Cantilon Chamber Choir contains the choir’s most well-loved and often performed material of their two most recent European tours (Debrecen, Hungary and Tolosa, Spain). This disc includes two of the most significant suites for children’s choirs - Francis Poulenc’s Petites Voix and Einojuhani Rautavaara’s “Suite” de Lorca, as well as selections by the Hungarian composers Béla Bartók, Miklós Kocsár, and Zoltán Kodály. This entirely a cappella disc is rounded out with works by Canadian composers Stephen Hatfield (Bonny Wood Green, When It Was Yet Dark, Las Amarillas and O-Yo-Yo) and Keith Hamel (Lullaby). Surge Illuminare; Women in Music Yesterday and Today

A concert of music composed by women, mostly Canadian, performed by women, the Lyric Singers under the direction of Nancy Rahn. The centre piece will be the world premier of a new work by Ramona Luengen, Surge Illiminare Jerusalem, commissioned by Lyric Singers for their 15th anniversary celebration. Liette Turner Foundation Grant for Choirs

The Liette Turner Foundation will provide a production grant to an adult community choir to present two concerts – one in its own community and the other a benefit concert for the Foundation, in La Prairie, in 2011. Choirs applying before APRIL 1, 2010 for a grant must be financially stable and have completed at least five seasons. They must also be incorporated as a not-for-profit organization, be accredited by Revenue Canada, and be a full member of the Alliance des chorales du Québec. The winning choir will be announced at our Benefit Gala on May 8, 2010, at 7:30 pm in La Prairie.

La Fondation Liette-Turner accordera des fonds à un chœur communautaire d'adultes qui sera sélectionné pour donner deux concerts, un dans sa localité et un autre lors du concert bénéfice de la Fondation à La Prairie en 2010. Pour soumettre une demande avant le 1 avril 2010, un chœur doit être stable financièrement et avoir terminé cinq saisons. Le chœur candidat doit également être constitué en société sans but lucratif accréditée et être membre de l’Alliance des chorales du Québec. Le nom de la chorale gagnante sera rendu public lors du notre concert gala le 8 mai 2010, 19h 30, à La Prairie, Québec.
