Edmonton Columbian Choirs Present Spring Bouquets

With the approaching of spring, the Edmonton Columbian Choirs present Spring Bouquets at McDougall United Church (10025 101 Street) on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 7:30PM.  This concert is proudly presented by Magic 99 and Vue Weekly.
 Spring Bouquets is a concert filled with a mix of sacred and secular music performed by choirs with members aged 5 to adult – the Young Columbian Singers under the direction of Elaine Dunbar, the Junior Columbian Singers under the direction of Vern Slipetz and the Chanteuses Ladies’ Choir under the direction of Heather Bedford-Clooney.  Included in the evening are folk songs like "Un Canadien Errant" and "O Danny Boy" (with violinist Holly Christiani), "O mio babbino caro" from Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, "Laudamus te" from Vivaldi’s Gloria, some African-American Spirituals, selections by Canadian composers Ruth Watson Henderson, Larysa Kuzmenko, Brian Tate and Leonard Cohen (his "Hallelujah") as well as "Pass Me By" from the movie Father Goose and "What a Wonderful World", to name a few.

Tickets for Spring Bouquets are $15 and are available by calling Beth Cooper at (780) 430-6806, through choir members and at the door.
