The Vancouver Chamber Choir is pleased that its founder and Artistic Director Jon Washburn has received one of the highest honours in the country for his lifetime contribution to the choral art. The Honourable Steven Point, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia presented the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal to him at a special ceremony on April 11.
The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal was created to mark the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty's accession to the Throne. In addition to honouring the Queen for her service to the country, the medal also recognizes contributions and achievements made by Canadians.
