Sinners and Saints: From Carmina Burana to the Spiritual Madrigals of Roland de Lassus
This Sunday Choral Concert brings you a celebration of both All Saints day and Halloween – music for both saints and sinners in one choral package.
In the sinner category Peter Togni will bring you Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, the collection of bawdy songs and choruses written by a group of renegade monks that celebrates wine, women and song. You’ll hear an incredible performance by the Montreal Symphony Orchestra Chorus and Orchestra along with Les Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal, all conducted by Jacques Lacombe.
In the saintly category you’ll hear a collection of spiritual madrigals by Roland de Lassus performed by the impeccable Studio de Musique Ancienne de Montreal conducted by Christopher Jackson.
