Just returning from a successful tour in Italy, the Ewashko Singers are pleased to invite you to join them in celebrating the bicentennial of the births of Frédéric Chopin and Robert Schumann. A concert featuring the works of these great masters of Romantic music will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. at the First Unitarian Congregation of Ottawa, 30 Cleary Avenue.
Joining the Ewashko Singers will be Ottawa’s own international award-winning soprano Maria Knapik, who will be accompanied by the renowned Canadian conductor and accomplished pianist Michel Brousseau.
Come and join us and our special guests, who have just performed in Carnegie Hall, the Lincoln Center, and Sicily. Join us in experiencing anew the music of Chopin and Schumann, the great pioneers of romanticism, whose music continues to inspire and delight performers and audiences alike.
Tickets are available at the door, or in advance at The Leading Note, 370 Elgin Street, (613-569-7888). General admission: $25; Students and Seniors: $20. For further information contact Doretha Murphy at 613-565-3993.
