Tallis Scholars Summer Schools, July 24–31, 2010

Location: Seattle University and St. James Cathedral, Seattle, Washington
2010 Theme: Lassus and the Flemish School

2010 Course Fees: 
  • STANDARD: $1550 (Student: $995) Includes lodging, all meals, sheet music, all course activities.
  • COMMUTER: $1100 (Commuter Student: $850) Includes all lunches and dinners, sheet music and course activities.
Who comes to TSSS: Enthusiastic singers aged 18 and over with good sight-reading skills. Professional musicians, dedicated amateurs, and college/graduate students. Attendees come from all over the world and share a passion for polyphony and choral singing.

A week at TSSS USA:
  • An intense immersion course into both sight-reading and performance practice of Renaissance polyphony.
  • Varied choral exposure to full choir work with Peter Phillips, smaller ensemble work with members of the Tallis Scholars, as well as opportunities for participants themselves to choose and work on repertoire.
  • Lectures giving context to the music being studied as well as talks giving participants a view into the lives and performance experiences of the Tallis Scholars.
    Private voice instruction from Tallis Scholar tutors.
