Choral Concert: The “Dead of Winter” edition
England, Finland, Russia and northern Germany - on this mid-winter Sunday Peter Togni will bring you music from the north.
Not that we planned it this way, we started off with a beautiful live concert with the Vancouver Chamber Choir called “The English Touch”. Once we had decided on that we went looking for something special that would compliment it, and we just kept on finding music that was from other northern countries.
So on this Sunday’s dead of winter edition of Choral Concert you will hear the Vancouver Chamber Choir doing 500 years of great British choral music - but you’ll also hear lots of other great northern music, starting with Jean Sibelius, and the Helsinki University Chorus in a performance of his very rousing “Patriotic Songs”.
Go to CBCMUSIC.CA and check out the new choral stream!!!! A 24/7 collection of a wide choral gems from J.S. Bach to John Rutter. Perfect programming for choral music lovers performed by some of our greatest choirs like the Elmer Iseler Singers, The Elora Festival Singers and Musica Intima.
