Patricia Abbott Receives the Diamond Jubilee Medal

Former ACCC Executive Director (1993-2009) Patricia Abbott was presented with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal on January 14 in recognition of her work in the choral community and in particular for her work in sharing her passion for music and singing with young people.

The medal was created to mark the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne, and is being presented to 60,000 Canadians from all walks of life for their contributions and distinguished service to their community and to the country.

Pat is now the artistic director of the CAMMAC Lake MacDonald Music Centre and continues to conduct the Chorale du Gesù, the English Montreal School Board Chorale, the Ensemble vocal Cantivo and Les Voix du Carrefour. She is an instructor in choral conducting at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music. She also serves on the artistic committee of the Polyfollia International Choral Festival in France and continues to give of her time to ACCC in the area of communications.
