In Memoriam: Deral Johnson August 17, 1926 - March 24, 2010

It is with sadness that ACCC announces the passing on March 24, 2010, of long time conductor, choral pedagogue and professor at the University of Western Ontario, Deral Johnson.  His life and work touched so many across the choral community in Canada, and the void created by his passing will  be keenly felt by many. Deral Johnson is the reason I went to Western in 1978. I learned more about singing from him than from any of the many singing teachers I had. Choral music has lost a champion. He will be remembered with love and respect by all who knew him and worked with him.
