An exciting opportunity to sing through and study the choral works of Barber (on this, his 100th year) and talk about how we, as singers, interpret text as a group. Included in the choral symposium is access to many of VISI's masterclasses and lectures as well, including a presentation by Samuel Barber biographer, Barbara Heyman.
Repertoire: Reincarnations, Agnus Dei (Adagio for Strings), To be sung on the water, Sure on this Shining Night, A Monk and his Cat, Let down the bars, O Death, Twelfth Night

Friday June 11: 6-10pm (Dunbar Heights Church)
Saturday June 12: 4-7pm (UBC School of Music)
Sunday June 13: 1-3pm (UBC School of Music)
Cost: $17 (for scores - which everyone can take home)

- June 12: 8pm - VISI Faculty Performance - In Celebration: The Songs of Samuel Barber (Frederick Wood Theatre, UBC - $20/$10 students)
- June 13: 8pm - VISI Faculty and Phoenix Choir (West Vancouver United Church $20/$10 students)
