Choral Concert with host Peter Togni, June 20, 2010 9:00 - 11:00 am, (9:30 - 11:30 NL) on CBC Radio 2

From Halifax, the “Tree of Life” with the Camerata Xara young women’s choir

Camerata Xara is a choir that is young in every sense. They are only 2 years old as a group and each member is under 30. They present a wonderful program that includes choreography, sets, lighting and spoken word to generate an atmosphere of pure magic.

You’ll also hear some selections from a brand new release by the Canadian Chamber Choir, and some exquisite Schumann romances by the Stuttgart Chamber Choir.

Plus, in honour of Father’s day Papa Haydn himself. Franz Joseph Haydn is considered the father of the modern symphony and the string quartet and he was affectionately called “Papa Haydn” by none other than Mozart himself. We’ll hear his Nelson Mass with the Trinity Choir and the Rebel Baroque Orchestra.
